Upper Trishuli-1 HEPP is a run-of-river type power plant on the Trishuli River. Its main features include the following structures and facilities:
- 5 m high diversion weir incorporating three large gates (11 m (w) x 16.5 m (h), each)
- Three underground desander each of size 115 m x 10 m x 23.93 m (l x w x h)
- 10 km headrace tunnel of some 6.5 m diameter and 76 m3/s discharge capacity
- Surge tank 40 m high and 300 m long vertical pressure shaft
- Underground powerhouse with three generating units (3 x 72 MW) producing 1,456 GWh/year of energy operating under 345m net head
- Transformer cavern with 220 kV outdoor switchyard and 1.2 km transmission line

Phase-I Value Engineering Services:
- Review of project design, costs and construction schedule
- Value engineering involving optimisation of design & construction schedule and cost savings
- Finalisation of employer’s requirements of the EPC contract
Phase-II EPC Contract Award Services:
- Preparation of pre-qualification document, updated EPC tender document and call for bidders
- Preparation of new optimised construction plan
- Management of tendering, tender evaluation, and EPC contract finalisation
Phase-III Project Management and Supervision Services (in JV):
- Review-approval-finalisation of construction/ detail design for civil works
- Review-approval-finalisation of detailed/ shop designs for hydromechanical, electrical and mechanical equipment
- Contract management including management of payment certificates, disputes & claims
- Supervision of construction works, factory acceptance tests, erection works and commissioning works
- Monitoring of project progress and cost control
- Monitoring of site health and safety
- Quality control and assurance
- Finalisation of O&M manuals, as-built drawings, taking-over/ performance certificates and contract closure
- Support during defects liability period
